Credit Controller

You know that feeling when someone says “credit control” and everyone else in the room suddenly remembers they left the kettle on? Not this one.

This is a proper credit control role in a fast-moving group of businesses that has more going on than most finance teams would care to admit. Think plenty of moving parts, and enough variety in your ledger to stop you quietly losing the will to live by Tuesday afternoon.

They’re big, ambitious, and growing at a pace that makes spreadsheets nervous.

You’ll own your own ledger and run the full credit control cycle end-to-end. You’ll be chasing payments, resolving queries, keeping cash moving, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks while the business scales up around you.

What’s the day to day?

• Full ownership of a designated sales ledger, managing accounts end-to-end
• Proactive collection of outstanding debt via phone, email, and written communication
• Allocation of cash and reconciliation of customer accounts
• Investigation and resolution of invoice queries and disputes
• Liaising with internal departments to resolve billing and account issues quickly
• Monitoring credit limits and escalating risk where appropriate
• Producing and maintaining accurate debtor reports and aged debt analysis
• Preparing monthly ledger commentary, including variance explanations for management
• Ensuring all customer accounts are kept up to date and compliant with agreed terms

What do you need?

• Proven experience in credit control
• Confident with Excel (not just opening it, actually using it)
• Organised, resilient, and comfortable juggling priorities
• Strong query resolution skills without over-escalating everything
• Ability to build relationships across customers and internal teams
• Proactive mindset with a focus on getting things done properly
